Which New Logo Works Best?

With the journey of Joseph Dominick Photography, I knew the time had come to get a logo designed. I finally stepped out and communicated with Vivid Dezigns in NYC. Below are the two final logo designs. Tell me what you think. Which do you prefer? And why?

    I prefer the first one. I think the lens is awesome and makes a great connection to your business.

    My immediate gut reaction with the second one was "vampire", lol. After studying it, it's cool but...just not a fan.

    Hmmmm, I like the second one because your name is so much clearer but the first one does represent your business well. So I say #1.

    both of my nephwews like the 1st one (8 & 11); the 11 year old said the 1st one looks like a photography lens and it looks cool; the 8 year old likes it because the 2nd one does not say anthing to him about photos; i agree with my two little men :o)
