Portrait: Allure Music Group

It is always interesting how time can help you see how you have grown as an artist.

Some time ago I photographed the R&B Group "Allure" at a studio I used in Harlem, NYC.   There was this one image from that shoot that has always stayed in the back of my mind, especially because I had never edited it.  I had always wanted to edit it but never got around to it.  Well, this morning I did.  And it is gorgeous.

Alia, Lalisha, and Akissa of the r&b music group Allure have been working hard this year both in the studio and on tour. With sweet spirits, lovely voices, and amazing beauty I so look forward to their next project which I hope is coming out soon.

Last week it was very cool to have two different magazines publish photos of mine. The first is an international magazine, UWI STAN. They published photos I took of the University of West Indies Dance ensemble preparing for the 2010 World Dance Alliance in New York City. Unfortunately the current issue is not online.

The second magazine is Hoodgrown Magazine which published photos I took of Allure during our photo shoot in Harlem a couple of months ago.

So now I am a published photographer. :)

As I reflect on my photographic work I see I truly enjoy working with Artists, both theatrical and musical. I am sure my artistic background plays a big part in that.

With this portrait of Allure, I wanted to highlight the fun and familial elements of Lalisha, Alia and Akissa. When I studied their previous photos I noticed these women really enjoy being around each other. That family element was clearly evident in the photos as well as during the photo shoot. These women truly are family.

Last week's photo shoot with the music group Allure was such a lovely experience.

Today I reviewed the photos and selected the proofs for Allure's approval. The thing is these ladies look so great it made it hard for me not to pick all of them.

Instead of sharing the amazing group shots here on the blog I decided to show individual portraits so you can appreciate each of these ladies.

Last week I had my first shoot at the Studio in Harlem. Yeah, Harlem, NYC. I now do all my administrative work in Chelsea and handle Studio work in Harlem. 2011 should be an amazing year in light of all these new dynamics.

So last week I had the privilege to photograph Alia, LaLa, and Akissa, better known as the R&B group Allure. We had a fantastic day photographing them in spite of the cold weather...lol.

These ladies are definitely fun to work with. I was able to get my photo with them as well at the end of the shoot.
