Urban Fine Art Fave - "Champion Love"

ENGAGEMENT

Here is a lovely urban fine art piece I call "Champion Love". It showcases Eurice and John during their engagement photo session down near Battery Park City.

As I mentioned in my last blog I had such a great time with them. I hope you enjoy the view.

Urban Fine Art Fave - "Graffiti Engagement"

ENGAGEMENT

This weekend I had a lovely engagement photo session with Eurice and John. They are really a fun couple. I look forward to photographing their wedding in August.

Eurice really wanted to take photos in TriBeCa and Battery Park. With the lovely sunny weather, we walked around lower Manhattan snapping away.

Below is one of my favorite photos from the session.

Weddings - Nelly & Josue

WEDDINGS

Photographing a wedding is both special and fun for me. Basically I am invited into a space to be up close and personal with the bride and groom, and their families. It is such an honor to share in the experience of such a sacred and familial time.

That intimacy is what I believe allows me to get such candid and precious moments. I believe it also allows me to capture that same life in the formal portraits.

Below are a few formal portraits of Nelly and Josue's Wedding.

Urban Fine Art Fave - "T&T Out of Africa"

PHOTOGRAPHY

I frequent Trinidad often. Last year I was there during Carnival and it was the first time I took Carnival photos with my own camera. Every other time I borrowed my friend's camera. Needless to say I took loads of photos.

Today I decided to review these Carnival photos, many of which I had never looked at on my computer. When I saw the photo of this woman, I knew I wanted to edit it. She was playing mas with Mac Farlanes' "Out of Africa".

Fav Pic of the Week - 5/4/10

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Two weeks ago I ventured out to Jamaica, Queens to photograph the "Sabor de Cultura" event sponsored by the Latin Caucus at York College. Michel Hodge, on staff with York, brought me in as the photographer for the event.

In a short time I will post up the numerous photos I took of this creative and fun filled celebration. For now I will share with you one of my favorite photos from the event. Here are Trisha and Mally in a portrait I call "Latin Caucus Divas".
